Patricia grew up in Galway in the west of Ireland, where she still lives. She has worked as a teacher, a director of an arts festival, a television writer, a playwright and a waitress, though not necessarily in that order.
Trish's new novel Mother Tongue is a sequel to her highly acclaimed fiction debut The Wordsmith (both titles published by Little Island). The latter was shortlisted for the CBI Children’s Book of the Year Award and published in the USA under the title The List (Sourcebooks). Her comic story for younger readers, Bumpfizzle (Little Island), was chosen as the 2019 Citywide Read for Children by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature
New and upcoming publications include picture books To The Island (Little Island) and Fidget The Wonder Dog (Puffin).
Trish is married with two grown up children and one incorrigible dog.
