Mike Barfield
Mike Barfield is an award-winning author and cartoonist whose Apparently cartoon strip has appeared in Private Eye for a quarter of a century. He has a first class science degree, and writes award-winning non-fiction books that children really enjoy reading. His books have been published across the world in 20 different languages.
A Day in the Life of a Poo, a Gnu and You, illustrated by Jess Bradley, won the Blue Peter Book Award, while The Element in the Room, illustrated by Lauren Humphrey, was shortlisted for the Blue Peter and the Royal Society Children’s Book prizes. A Day in the Life of a Caveman, a Queen and Everything In Between was shortlisted for for the LOLLIES Award for funny books.
Recent and forthcoming titles from Mike include The Wild Life of Animals and A Day in the Life of an Astronaut, Mars and the Distant Stars.
Mike is married with two grown-up children and lives in North Yorkshire.
