Katherine Halligan
Katherine Halligan worked in children’s publishing for many years, writing over 150 novelty, non-fiction and picture books along the way.
Most recently she ran the non fiction list at Nosy Crow, where she wrote and commissioned books on a wide range of subjects.
HerStory (Nosy Crow) is Katherine's highly acclaimed collection of biographies of 50 women and girls who changed the world, illustrated by Sarah Walsh. Published in 19 languages worldwide, the book has been shortlisted for multiple prizes including the ALCS Educational Award.
Recent and forthcoming books include Bang! The Story of How Life on Earth Began, illustrated by Amy Grimes (Walker) and Lola Saves the Show, in conjunction with the National Theatre, illustrated by Guilherme Karsten (Walker).
After twenty years based in the UK, Katherine is currently living with her family in her native California.
